DESCRIPTION

Inspired by the classic American film, It's a Wonderful Life: a live radio play is performed as a 1940s live radio broadcast in front of a studio audience. With the help of an ensemble of six actors and a live foley artist, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve. It will take help from a lovable angel, Clarence, to show George what life would be like if he hadn’t been born for George to have a change of heart and understand the true spirit of the holidays. 

With director Joe Harmston at the helm (creator of Murder On Air, a staged version of Agatha Christie’s three extant radio plays which played to packed houses all over the UK), with live music and a cast of six actors bringing the town of Bedford Falls to life, Lighthouse Theatre presents this ingenious staging of a timeless classic film and seasonal favourite.
